Darrell Smalley the Office Managing Partner / Principal of Ernst & Young LLP located in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, with 29 years of public accounting experience, 25 of which have been in state and local taxation. Darrell serves as a Global Client Service Partner in the energy sector. In this role, Darrell is responsible for understanding the client business agenda and aligning EY services to meet a client needs and ensuring exceptional client service. This includes EY’s, Advisory, Tax, Transaction Support and Assurance services.
Additionally, Darrell serves clients through assessing the impact of global incentives for strategic investment / imperatives and working with clients and governmental agencies to secure incentives. These strategic global imperatives may include significant capital expansions; redeployment of equipment; employment, retention and training programs; research, development and innovation initiatives; sustainability energy efficiency and clean-tech investments and transaction-based activities.
Darrell’s tax clients operate across many sectors. Prior to joining EY, Darrell served in a similar role with Arthur Andersen.
In prior years, Darrell serves as the Central East Strategic Growth Market Leader. In this role, Darrell focuses on understanding and responding to the business needs of high growth entrepreneurial organizations. Darrell also served as the co-Director of the Pittsburgh office EY Entrepreneur Of The Year™ (EOY) program. EOY is recognized as one of the most prestigious business award programs in the country and celebrates the country’s most innovative business leaders.
