INNOVATIVE PACKAGING
INNOVATION DESCRIPTION
Structural packaging innovation has been explored by numerous industry groups for decades. Most recently, supply chain pressures triggered by COVID-19 caused many companies to look to packaging as a way to offset costs and improve bottom line (without sacrificing customer experience).
Nottingham Spirk commercialized a container application for a US dairy customer that eliminated the traditional milk containers and designed a new package where the milk itself supported the actual structure of the container. The elimination of reverse logistics from the equation (need to ship the milk crates back) created much needed margin lift for the company.
DEGREE OF CONFIDENTIALITY
This innovation — as well as numerous other packaging innovations — is fully available for public consumption.
